Unstable Version 1.1 Build 4 is Now Available!


Hello everyone!

A new update is finally here, and it's slightly bigger than I expected! This update introduces changes to the You Can Think Pad, and they're big! From brand new features to brand new fixes, they might've come from you and even me! This was a game I worked on for a few years, and I can't wait to finish it when I am ready.

Now, like I talked about before, the next update (unstable build 5) will mostly be focused on bug fixes. After that update, I'll be finishing up whatever content is left that's on the list of being left out in the game.

Now, here's the full changelog:

Changelog

  • Fixed the exit button closing the game too soon.
  • This change was actually introduced in unstable build 3.5: Running out of stamina now slows you down again.
  • This change was actually introduced in unstable build 3.5: The player now moves a tiny bit faster.
  • Fixed the buttons' triggers scaling incorrectly.
  • Fixed the movement axes making the player slow when activated at the exact same time.
  • Started working on the AI systems.
  • Baldi now properly goes to the next wander point. The same wander point, after going to the next one, will still assign to a Transform variable in Baldi's script. However, if Baldi enters a room, that NPC will now properly decide if said room is a dead end, and even in that case the character will still be going somewhere.
  • The You Can Think Pad now has a new input box setup, which allows for entering actual inputs. This is programmed with the new input system.
  • "POTENTIALLY" fixed a super rare bug that returned a NullReferenceException when picking up an item.
  • Fixed the player not stopping at the Time.timeScale setting that he did when he normally does not move.
  • Notebooks can now become items if their tag has been switched to "Item". This is only possible through Unity.
  • Fixed a MissingReferenceException that occurred in AlarmClockScript. This follows with another fix to another NullReferenceException that occurred in SubtitleScript.
  • Arts and Crafters now disables if you won the game.
  • Moved some wander points around.
  • The code 31718 has been discontinued as of 2022 in BBCR. I wanted to enforce the discontinuation harder in BBCRD. This change is included into the input box changes.
  • This change is included into the input box changes: If you try to be funny in the "6+9" question by putting the 6 in the tens place and the 9 in the ones place of your answer, you will get this following message: "Not funny."
  • You are no longer allowed to input 67 into the You Can Think Pad. If you do this, you will get this message: "NO MORE 6 7". This is a code you can type in but is considered unacceptable in Baldi's Basics. This change is included into the input box changes.
  • I am working on a code called "112118" which refers to flipping the player upside down like the new Gooshoes code. It is not functional, do not use until the new update comes.
  • These above changes result you to get problems wrong throughout the rest of the questions. They cannot be answered like they can somewhat be in Baldi's Basics Classic.
  • Reworked the item functionality so that the item sprite disables itself while unparented, even if the item is a notebook and the item tag is applied.
  • Notebooks now display as check marks after they are collected, so it is clearer to tell that you collected it.

Known Issues

  • There is a framerate inconsistency in speed, resulting in the player sometimes moving way too fast.
  • The AILocationSelectorScript.wanderLocations array is missing some wander points, causing erroring out in Baldi (I could be wrong though).
  • The 112118 code is not functional.
  • Codes do not work at ALL on most 3rd question inputs. However, if you had already typed the code before the 3rd question and on the 3rd question you do not input a code, it will stay the same (if I remember correctly. Correct me if I'm wrong!).
  • The A.I. STILL does not work.
  • Sometimes Playtime can go inside the player's collider during the whole jump-rope mode session.
  • Some audio does not stop or pause.
  • Prefabs that are instantiated by the player do not destroy if the player wins the game.
  • The secret ending is STILL not finished.
  • The design of the pause screen hasn't been... "figured out."
  • Audio is not propagated.
  • The secret ending does not save your items.
  • The inventory does not consistently update the selected item slot if people modify the array list for the items in the inventory.
  • The hang of the learn music (Everybody's Favorite Subject) is not correct.
  • The You Can Think Pad does not scale up and down constantly. It just stays the same size.
