A downloadable mod for Windows and Linux

The original game → Baldi's Basics Chapter 2 by NOT AGAIN

Notice

This version of the mod is discontinued. I will still make sure to maintain this game's stability, but this just won't be worked on for that much longer. What I'm saying is, this is also an obsolete version of the mod that just got discontinued before its next update. When I was working with the BBCRD Demo I was fixing, polishing, and replacing a lot of the systems in the game to ensure the game works properly. So, when I finish doing that, I will remake this entire thing but for now, I decided to release a testing build to experiment with portal posters, ensuring it works properly. Thanks to every one of you for your patience!

Install instructions

Experimental Portal Poster build is out now! Remember, since this version of Chapter 2 Remastered: The Return is obsolete and the rewrite is not out yet, I will actually release one final update. However, even though I won't maintain the game mod for much longer, I'll still make sure to add Linux builds to the unstable build (the pre-release) and the experimental build. The stable pre-release builds will be released on 9/17/25, and the Linux version for the Experimental Portal Poster build, 9/19/25.

- On Windows, download any build of the game, supported for the operating system and extract the files.

- [WARNING! DO NOT DO THIS ON A SCHOOL CHROMEBOOK AS FOR MODS LIKE THESE AND MY OTHER STUFF MAY NOT BE AGE-APPROPRIATE.] On Linux, download the “BALDI_CH2_Final_Linux.zip” file. Next, follow these commands:

  1. unzip BALDI_CH2_Final_Linux.zip
  2. mkdir BaldiChTwoRemastered
  3. mv "Linux" "BaldiChTwoRemastered"
  4. executable="BaldiChTwoRemastered/Linux/Baldi'sBasicsCh2Remastered_Linux.x86_64" ; mv "$executable" $(echo $executable | tr -d "'")
  5. folder="BaldiChTwoRemastered/Linux/Baldi'sBasicsCh2Remastered_
    Linux_Data" ; mv "$folder" $(echo $folder | tr -d "'")
  6. chmod 744 BaldisBasicsCh2Remastered_Linux.x86_64
  7. ./BaldiChTwoRemastered/Linux/BaldisBasicsCh2Remastered_Linux.x86_64 --disable-gpu-vsync
  8. sudo apt install kmenuedit
  9. kmenuedit

Lastly, add a shortcut for Baldi's Basics Chapter 2 Remastered and locate your .x86_64 file and click open! Oh yeah, can't forget one more thing: naming the shortcut! This game is called "Baldi's Basics Chapter 2 Remastered" so name it that!

Remember on Chromebooks, the process is similar except you have to install Linux apps on the ChromeOS machine so you can access a Linux terminal.

baldi 2 real!??!?!???????!??!?!?!!!!!!!!!?!??!?!?!?!?!?!

!?!?!?!??!?!?!?

This is NOT officially "offical". (That typo is intentional. I'm saying this because Witherskull42 has one made a typo like this before, so I'm reciting it. Credit to Wither THA MAN!)

Cool!

I will upload a new update very soon around in the summer! I don't mean immediately now, but I mean later on in June, or possibly in July! For now, here are some tips:

  1. You can play the 1.0 version of the game, which is more stable, but contains less content, and it also lacks images that are in-line with the game's standard. You can try a few strategies to see if they work for this game, but it will be more difficult, mainly because of the RNG.
  2. If you play the 1.1 pre-release version, it is possible to get away from Baldi because each time he finishes going to a targeted location, he will navigate to a constant location, and so will other characters. Also, the Code Generator Gadget had programming issues and also has its canvas disappears immediately without prior delaying once the 3 questions are answered. This has been fixed on my end and will be for the next update, the official V1.1 update. It will also contain lots of more bug fixes and technical changes for making this game as perfect as possible.
  3. In V1.1 pre-release, during finale mode, you should also not pause the game while the Chaos rumble sound is playing, or the sound will glitch. Yes, this bug was fixed, too. Dark Gotta Sweep can probably still move even if you're one the Code Generator Gadget, but on Dark Gotta Sweep in this build, his cooldown probably would rather be the thing that would pause than his speed. Sometimes it's hard to remember because of how much this update has evolved over the past 1.6 active years, if that's how I can put to it.
  4. There is a material update glitch with swinging doors after placing a swinging door lock on it after 25 seconds that happens in the pre-release update. After the long while, if you still see the door appears to look like it's still locked, just go through it and it'll be normal again. You won't have to deal with this issue in the next update!

And that's all the tips I wanted to give you! Hopefully they're helpful with these versions. Remember, once the next update's out, the 5 old builds will be removed.

Edit: I’m sorry, I—

Wait, what? How is it possible to do that many things? That’s just odd. You know what? I’m just going to ask a different question.

What’s something you know he has done? (Something that he has done that you repeated!)
